Pumpkin carving is an absolute must. It is one of my most favorite parts of Halloween. I am not big on the rest of it. It is seems crazy to go around asking for candy you will never eat or in Addi's case over eat. Buy a costume for when we have an entire tub full upstairs that I get to see weekly and try to scare people, cause that has no entertaining value to me at all! Regardless, the kids are in so I am in.
Now back to your regurally scheduled blog post about carving.
This year we did not go to the pumpkin patch, mainly because of scheduling conflicts but also because Giant pumpkins were grown at the farm and there were more then enough for all of the families! It was awesome and I think they scraped out so much easier.

Addi is like me she is grossed out and intrigued by the slime of the pumkin guts. She wanted to be all dainty scoop them out one I loosened them but then soon realized there is some weird fun in just getting your hand in there. I will say it was a quick dash to the bathroom to wash her hands though.
Lucas on the other hand hates to scraping and scooping and really only participtes when it is time to do some carving. I saw some serious improvements in his carving abilities this year.

Here is the finished product. Addi did the owl, which meant some help. Luke did the big nose guy. I only helped in the corners as he was afraid something might break. See, amazing work!!

Here is the pumpkin we brought home in memory of GG. She may not be here phyically but one little girl is going to make sure we remember here in everything we do. It may bring tears to my eyes but it sure warms my heart.
I have no pictures of actualy Halloween cosutmes. It was not on purpose I promise. I had a download issue with my camera and it seems to have at least temporaily eaten them!
