The start of the 2011-2012 school year

Addi is in Pre-K

Luke is in 4th Grade

It is amazing how time flyes.

Motorcycle Fever

Jeremy rented a motorcyle this year for Mikie's poker run. It was the 5th year for the run and Jeremy really did not want to miss it, nor did he want to drive his truck. He rented a Harley from the local Harley dealer for 4 days. He left Saturday morning and came home Sunday afternoon. The two of us took the bike out Friday night after he picked it up. It was a nice drive around the city until we got stuck in traffic on the way home. Traffic on a motorcyle really really stinks!!

On Sunday Jeremy gave the kids rides around the neighborhood. Both of them loved it. Luke jumped on and rode off before I could ever find my camera. I never managed to get a picture of him on the bike, I did manage to snap a few of Addi Jo.

She was in love from the second she put the helmet on.

Her body never moved from this position. She was gone for 20 minutes and sat just like this the entire time. Jeremy also says she talked the entire time but the good thing about a bike is that you can't hear a word out of her!

I can't wait to see what we have in a few years!! And by that I think the bike fever is pretty bad and that girl is in love with riding!!

Son of Surf

This year Addi and Luke did VBS at the church where Addi goes to pre-school. There were just over 200 kids participating. It was the largest group the kids have ever participated in. It was amazing to see the kids know exactly where to go in their little groups and have such a great time with their friends, that they were somehow able to see.

On the last night they had a performace with skits and singing to show us everything they learned as well as their art projects and slide show of pictures. Can you imagine a water day everyday with all these kids? Somehow they managed to pull it off. They called the teachers life guards to go with the theme. I am so glad I did not volunteer to help out!!

Addi was able to find me out in the crowd and make sure she posed for her picture.

Addi knew all the moves to all the dances and all the words to all the songs. Luke could not wait for the singing piece to be over but did love the skits.

Independence Day 2011

We arrived back from vacation just in time to celebrate the 4th of July with our family and neighbors. Actually we flew home on the 2nd because Jeremy needed to make sure there were no delays in our arrival home for the firework celebration.

We had a wonderful time and the kids are getting more into it every year. It was a hot day but a beautiful night. I took no pictures at night, I was too focused on watching the show. We had 39 people spread out across the driveway and yard.

Look at all that confetti. Those were some awesome poppers Aunt Carrie found!

We are so glad for those that were able to make it. For those of you that missed it, feel free to join in next year. We have a few extra beds if you need to make it a sleep over!! Only one side dish needed for admission to the pot luck dinner!

Luke is 9

Lucas turned nine on Saturday-of a baseball tournament weekend. He could not of been happier about it!! I wanted to make it special for him, something he would remember. Really he was just so happy he got to play baseball on his birhtday he did not care about much else. I did not want to haul an entire cake down there so I made a 9 out of mini-donuts for everyone to eat. He loved and so did everyone else on his team. It was a real "hit"

Everyone sang happy birthday to him and he soaked up every minute!!

The Rascals did great in the tournament! 4-0. 1st Place!

Now this is some serious batting! He even got to open some presents at the ballpark!

Luke went home with Grandma Jan that night after being a bit overheated at the games.. The farm and baseball, a perfect birthday for Luke!!
