More baseball

A hitting star

A warm up

Oops, a small break to tie his shoes. Actually this was a problem thru the entire game. It was all I could do not to pull the ultimate mom embarrassment and go tie his shoe for him.

Here he is trying to make his way home.

And he scores!!

Whoo it takes a lot to circle those bases!!

And the crowd goes wild!!

Family reunion

Grandma Char had her family reunion at the farm this year. It was pretty awesome to see all of her family. Jeremy even mentioned he almost told Char a couple of times before he realized it was not her!
For me one of the best pieces of any reunion are the kids. I love to see the kids and how they grow from year to year or time to time. It amazes me that kids do not seem to realize that they have not seen each other for a year or two or sometimes they don't even know the name of the kid they are playing with but they play and play well together.

Here are two little girls that we think are going to grow up to run the world.
They are too cute together and only six months apart.

Look at these cuties. Uncle Jeremy was nice enough to re-fill the pool for the little ones to play in

Here is Grant figuring out the sprayer on the whale pool.

Here they are fixing a pool issue.

Whee
Look they are not the same person!! A real picture of Grandma Char and Grandma Jan together sitting together, at the same time, next to each other. It's amazing!!
Here is Farmer Hunter taking his chicks for a ride.
Brenna decided she wanted in on the fun. Here she is playing I can run away from you with the plastic bag that flew into the fence. Grandma Jan did take the round but it lasted much longer then it did when Jac played.

Good 'ol Luke

A couple of weeks ago Taralyn and Hunter got to spend the weekend with us. It was not perfect for them because it was the same weekend as Luke's tournament which meant lot of watching for three kids that don't have a passion for the game. It was hot but thank goodness the ball park had a concession stand and we had lots of snacks.

Hunter crashed with Taralyn and Luke Friday night. When I woke up Saturday morning, Addi's doing, this is what I found in Luke's room. It was so cute I had to run and get the camera.

Luke had gone downstairs and gotten a water bottle for them and some donuts. They were having a nice breakfast watching Spongbob in bed.

This little girl (Taralyn) had no idea what was going on. She was O-U-T.

We hope we can do it again this summer only without so much baseball!! I do love running 4 kids to the point they ask if they can go to bed!

Baseball tournament

Every year Grandview has a baseball tournament by age group and this year Lucas team got to play!! I love this tournament because it is so close to our house that we can run back and forth between games!! We happended to be experiencing a heat wave that weekend so it was wonderful we could run back home.
Lucas got to play under the lights on Friday night and reminded me I forgot my camera. I was bummed because I have yet to remember it on a night where he plays under the lights!! Maybe next time?!?

Lucaw even got to play 3rd base for a bit. Lucas is always offering up his catching job to any other kid that would like to try it out because he loves catching and thinks everyone else will also. What happended during the tournament is no different than any other time he offers up his gear, the next inning he is back to being catcher.

Here he is on 3rd base. Look at that cute face we never get to see.

Here Luke is back catching. I picture is something like this:

Oh he is coming

Hurry up, get me the ball
Ok, here it comesDang it, just a little too late. This is horrible.
Here he is getting some action on 3rd base

Preschool

Tuesday Addison startedpreschool at Guiding Star. She has been super excited to go to a new school. She gets to pick between taking her lunch or buying her lunch everyday and then there is the backpack!! A backpack. Her very own backpack that we have to go through everynight.

This is one happy girl!

Here is the all important backpack shot!!

Everyone needs a goofy pose.

Addie has done very well at school the last two days. Her teachers love her and say she is a true joy in class. They can't beleive it is first week, she fits right in with the other kids in her class. I hope the love affair continues!!

First swim

We headed to the pool for our initial trip last weekend. The water was not too cold, which is a serious plus. I did not even think about getting in last year until about July. We also ran into half the people I know in Raymore at the pool, which is a serious down side for me considering I was in my swimsuit. ARRR

The kids have asked everyday to go back, I don't see many week night trips until baseball wraps up!!!

Addie is pretty much obsessed with everything in the pool bag. I don't think there is one item that has not been tested. Luke spent some of his allowance on a mask and snorkel set which has seen a lot of use once he figured out keeping the end above the water.

Fishing time

On Sunday we headed to Truman lake for some fishing. We fished for about three hours. In mom hours that was about thirty-six. I tried to have a good heart about it but Addie was a princess about everything. She even decided she was leaving at one point. None of that was helped with the fact that her chair I set up on the edge of the water so her feet could get wet and before I knew it she fell over into the water.
I did not have a chance to get out the camera until lunch time.

As you can see by Addie Jo's face she was not even wowed with lunch.

Luke on the other hand could not have been happier with the activity of the day.

Sadly, we did not catch any keepers but it really was a nice day outside. We ended with a fish fry at Troy's lake place so that was satisfying for the boys. Luke ate eight pieces of fish, one less then his bet Troy he could eat. I was getting a bit worried though!!
WELCOME SUMMER
