Independence Day

Ever since the kids were old enough to almost explode over the excitement of Independence night I have tried to plan a day of fun for them. It is only getting more exciting as they get older. This year the big kids went on a scavenger hunt while the little ones had ice cream. Then they had to break apart or thaw out a pair of frozen socks and get them on their feet. For the adults this is a wonderful opportunity to laugh and cheer but mainly laugh.

I mean who would not want to put on cold wet socks on a 90degree day

General cuteness

I can remember when Addi Jo had no hair and I would post pictures. Now this girl has her own style and wants her picture taken ever few minutes doing amazing things!

She is so happy she got her leg extension. Sometimes I wonder if she ever sleeps in the room

She is so crafty even though I have no idea what this says it was certainly made with love

-Love, The how did they get this old Long's

KC Royals

We love to go to The K. The problem is finding time to go. This year we were only able to squeeze in a few games and every single one was great!

Fishing Fun

This year we bought a camper. This would be a good spot to insert picture of said camper, maybe that will happen at later date.
Regardless of the camper picture it means that we have made more trips to the boat. More trips to the boat means more fishing.

Serious spring catfishing

Look at these cuties. They can't wait to fry up their dinner

They all fish! They all catch! They all sleep well at night!

Band practice

Here are some pictures of Luke practicing his baritone. As you can see his biggest fan loved every off tune minute of it

Dance recital was the first weekend in June. For the comp teams it's a fun finish for them. It is very relaxed, for Addi she may have been a bit too released at times. Luke took a hip hop class and I think enjoyed himself but certainly did not love his stage time.

Field Day

Right before school is out the kids schools have field day. The don't go to the same school so their field days were on different days, just another way to extend the fun
Field Day is different then I remember, no race running no tug of war. It's sort of a mix between a carnival and times activities. In the end the kids have a blast!

EG for Eagle Glen, his school

Way to do your hair in field day colors

Not to be left out of anything, ever!

A couple days later was Addi Jo filed day. She came he looking like a tiger!

Band Time

Luke started playing in the band! Technically the started in May with band camp for a week and now it is part if his school day. He is playing the baritone and really loves it. I have to admit he is not half bad.

This is part of the concert they did at the end if band camp to show what they know

Baseball

Luke played his first year of baseball with a club based in Overland Park. We wanted him to get into a baseball club setting versus a team. The main difference is really the resources and level of coaching. It was a great year of fall and spring/summer ball. We are back at it again!

In the winter there are no games, only practice and more practice

MVP at at least one game of every tournament he played in. Very impressive!! Still not a fan of stopping for a picture moment.

Waiting out a weather delay.

2nd place in Hawaiian Hitfest

She can make friends anywhere

Here we are watching food disappear

The pitcher

This was a pretty good group to hang with and the boys seemed to enjoy Addi directing them.

Nice catch!

-Love, The Long's who did not have farmers tans but baseball tans-feet included.
