We are back

I am happy to say I am back in action! I could not be happier about it. I will also say the girl at Best Buy today was way more pleasant and helpful than the last one and they were actually nice about the return and even aologized! Well lets get back to it!

Is there good help these days?

I was so excited to come home tonight. I made it to Best Buy this afternoon. I talked to a very nice young lady in the camera department that said I should just by a card reader for my missing cord situation. I told her I owned a Sony Alpha camera and she grabbed the one I needed. It is now after football practice and dinner and homework and packing for my St. Louis trip and showers and baths and picking up the house. I grabbed my computer my new card reader and-instant disappointment! IT IS THE WRONG ONE! I CAN'T FIT MY MEMORY CARD INTO THE STUPID ONE SHE GAVE ME.

So super annoyed. I have to leave for St. Louis in the morning so now I can't get anything until Thursday at the earliest. That stinks!!

I promise I will get pictures up soon!

Missing

I would love to tell and show you about the wonderful things we have had going on around here. There is one slight issue. The cord that connects my camera to my computer is missing. ARRRR, it makes me mad. Now don't get carried away and think we are living in a mess over here. It is actually just the opposite. The house is almost spotless. I say almost because heck two kids live here and well I have to clean the windows like Grandma would like. Anyway, the cord is missing and I can't really blog about the entire month of August yet which really stinks. I am close to giving up and heading to Best Buy. Stay connected, hopefully I will be back soon.

Minnie Mouse

Grandma Ann took Lucas to Branson for his birthday last weekend. Lucas had a great time and loved every second. Addi got a Minnie Mouse dress out of the trip and loves it.

She loves to twirl and twirl.

it even came with bloomers!! Too cute.

VBS 2010

This week Luke has vacation bible school at church. Papa Clay was kind enough to take and keep Luke evry day. Luke loved the fact he got to fish every day after VBS.
Friday night was the performance for the parents so they could see everything the kids did during the week and they even sang a few songs for us that they learned. This years theme was a ranch so Luke really got into everything.

hair cut

A couple weeks ago Luke was at a friends house and Jeremy and I wanted a nap. We all layed down with Addi Jo in our bed for a nap. I qucikly fell asleep and Addi was watching tv. Jeremy decided to go downstairs to watch something besides Dora on tv. We woke up in time to head to dinner with some friends. I went to the bathroom and opened the hairbrush drawer and just about fell over.
While I was sleeping Addi found a pair of scissors and gave herself a hair cut. She also GAVE ME ONE. When she was done she put the hair back in the drawer and eventually came back to bed and fell asleep. She was still sleeping when I found the hair but was awake shortly after. I think me setting her up to look at her hair might of had something to do with it.
She cut her bangs. SHORT. Really short. It may suprise you but Addi did not cut them straight so I had to shorten them up a bit more to even them out.
I had hair missing on the side of my head in the front. She cut it short enough it does not tuck beind my ear but not so short that it looks like a kid cut my hair.
ALL scissors have been put away. so away I could not find a set the other night. Addi is pretty much frightened of a pair of scissors at this point and won't even touch them if they are out.

Luke is 8

Lucas turned 8 on Friday. It seems like yesterday tat he was a tiny little guy crawling around on the floor and a few shorts weeks from now he will be starting third grade.
This year Luke wanted a cather's party. I was to make a cake that looked like a catcher's mask. That did not happen. it was easier said then done. we opted for a general baseball theme and lke decided this year to invite friends-actually his entire baseball team. Only a few boys were able to come but it worked out nicely.
Addi was able to help Luke open a few presents which made her very very happy.
Daddy set up the baseball hitting contest for everyone to play. There was no clear winner but everyone had a great time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCAS!!

Independence Day 2010

There is no denying Independence Day is Jermey's Day. He pretty much floats above the ground from the time he gets out of bed. Every year we b-b-q and then we party at night. It is a wonderful day of family and friends!

Here is the happy guy himself.

We had a ton of fireworks for the kids. They loved the parachutes. Here they are retreaving a few of them.

Addi Jo just loves the pop or snaps, which ever is the real name.

The kids all took turn lighting fireworks in the street. I was very pleased that there was only one frighting moment and that was no ones fault. We had a rouge firework that took aim at the spectators seats. It ultimatly landed in the kids fireworks box which was quickly empied.

Addi and her sparklers. She just loves sparklers. I wish you could hear how she says it.

Hunter discovered the love of rockets. We did not have nearly enough for him. This one stayed pretty much in tack after take off and he tried to play with it. The only problem was Addi who was determined to throw it away, every single time she found it unattended.

More snaps

On the run for parachutes

More firework lighting. All the kids had to light their firewors during the day so Jeremy could do his at night.

Hunter and his sparkler. He was not such a fan as some sparks got on his ankle.

The night fall. This year was a bit of a damper. It rained just before dark. It was not bad at first, only sprinkles so we kept going. Then it got heavier. Eventually Jeremy got everything lit but we did have to take a few breaks to allow the heavy bouts of rain to pass.

It is hard to take pictures of fireworks, I am busy watching and none of the pictures turn out great.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the fireworks on the table before we started. It was massive, it was also a little scary if you thought about the amount of money spent.

Here is Addi taking cover under an umbrella with the neighbor boys girlfriend.

Here is the finale, it was way more impressive in person.

We hope your Independence Day was wonderful and fun also!!

Kimodo

For Father's Day we decided Daddy needed a new grill. None of us were brave enough to pick out the specific grill so we designed a scavenger hunt so Dad could figure out his gift. It was slightly spoiled when Luke asked Saturday if I told Dad he was getting a grill for Father's Day. We will overlook that part.
It was a great thing we did not pick out the grill for dad because it took him over a week to decide on the grill he wanted and the store he wanted to get it from. I have no idea how many stores he went to and how many of those he went to multiple times but I can tell you he is happy with his selection.

He picked out the Kimodo large grill. It is the grill style the Big Green Egg grill is based off of. It is way heavier than you would think but takes up way less room then the old one.
After we brought it home we all got to help put it together.

Dad had a hard time selecting jobs for everyone but did manage to keep all the pieces together and get everything put together correctly.

Too see the finished product you will have to come over so we can grill you up something nice and yummy!!

Under the lights

Lucas loves to play under the lights. He really thinks it is big time play! I finally remembered my camera for one of his evening games. Checkin out where he is in the line up. Luke has gotten really good this year at getting his catching gear off and back on to be ready for the next inning.

He was so close to catching this foul ball.

It really was an amazing season this year!!

More baseball

A hitting star

A warm up

Oops, a small break to tie his shoes. Actually this was a problem thru the entire game. It was all I could do not to pull the ultimate mom embarrassment and go tie his shoe for him.

Here he is trying to make his way home.

And he scores!!

Whoo it takes a lot to circle those bases!!

And the crowd goes wild!!
