swim time and a show to remember

A very important componant of any trip for our family is appropriate swim time!! The kids love to swim. It helped that it was a hot trip so we all enjoyed some time to cool off!!

The pool at the resort was shaped like a fort. There were cannons and a sunkin pirate ship area. The kids really loved it!

Cinderella's Castle has a show on the front several times a day. We made sure we caught one so Addie could see Mickey and a few of her other friends.

Look at how into watching it she is. I tried to get her to leave but that only ticked her off. We watched every minute of the show!!

Magic Kingdom rides

Here are a few rides from Magic Kingdom.

No one ever looks really great after the tea cups stop spinning.

This is one of Luke's favorite rides. Speedway of tomorrow. They are mini cars and he is tall enough to drive them. Begged to make this our first ride, it was not but it was cute to see him get so excited when we finally made our way there.

Addie and I even made a trip around the track. She was a little upset she could not drive but once the wind hit her face she was good to go.

Disney fun

Magic Kingdom is an amazing place. There is a special moment around every corner. I learned on our last trip that you should not rush from ride to ride or attraction to attraction because you could miss some pretty amazing moments with your kids. Lucas talked about the talking trash can after our last trip. The talking trash can served as part of the inspiration for the Wall-E movie. That being said the talking trash can is cool, way cooler then the movie if you ask me. We were able to find it again this trip. Memorized the kids for a good 15 minutes. I know the pictures are weird, to some degree you have to see it to understand but it moves around and talks to you. Hey, girl in the blue shirt do you have some trash for me? Why did you put Cinderella on your shirt? How did you do that? If you see her will you tell her I need to talk to her?

A moving ball covered in water. Lucas did not even notice the star layouts on it until we pointed it out.

Is he worthy of the sword?
Guess not today?
I love how he put his foot up there and have it his all to get it out.

We got the kids a stroller and it makes things a lot easier, well until they get hot and start fighting in it, but it is still tiring to be at the parks all day. Here is Addie leaned up against a railing trying to take a quick nap.

Cinderella's Breakfast

The very first morning of our trip we had breakfast at Cinderella's castle. I have pictures of all of us with Cinderella but Disney took them and I have to scan them into the computer so you can look for those sometime next week!!
Addie insisted on having her picture taken with the Cinderella window. She did not love Cinderella in person but some how a stained glass image of her did seem like a wonderful photo op to Addie.

Cinderella invited a couple of friends to breakfast with her.
Here is Sleeping Beauty

Every prince and princess received a wishing star and the girls got magic wands and the boys swords. Yeah, we needed another sword. As you can see it was immediately put to good use by trying to cut one's wand in half.

A proud sword owner. Luke said this make the breakfast okay after all. That and two plates of egg did not hurt either.

Snow White.

So I totally goofed when Snow White came to our table. They had just announced Sleeping Beauty was also at breakfast and I asked Addie if I could take her picture with Sleeping Beauty. Snow White says, my lady I am Snow White. Oops, crap. I could feel the daggers from those dark eyes and fairest skin in the land!!

Here is Princess Ariel. Oops, I forgot to get Addie close in the picture. I think she is a little upset about that.

Here we are at our table. It is a beautiful castle. It was very hard for Addie to eat her breakfast. She kept looking at the princess and reminding us she was also a princess. She pretty much floated around the park the rest of the day.

A prince who thought the knight of armor was awesome.

Weather-boo!! UPDATED

It only rained one day. We were in Orlando for 6 days and it only rained on one of them and that was only one afternoon while we happened to be taking a nap and did not know it until we woke up. It was however "unseasonably hot" at least that is what everyone living in Orlando told us. I recall them saying the same thing the last time we were there so I don't know if I believe them or it it just a line they tell visitors when they complain about sweat rolling down their backs. We were complaining about the heat until we got on the airplane for KC and the pilot said it was raining and 52 in KC. AHHH, we are not dressed for 52 degree rainy weather. Yep, we were those inappropriately dressed people on the plane. Oh well, we made it to the heat of the car soon enough after a bit of a rough landing. It was so ruff Lucas was telling Addi to put her arms up in the air like on the rides at Disney World. Not so funny to the older people on the plane.

Good night

Well it is late and we are all still tired. I promise I will post more tomorrow!!

Animal Kingdom

It's tough to be a bug is one cool show. It is 4D which means you can smell some of the stinky bugs in the show.

Here is the picture of Addie. I was too lazy to go back to the other post. Sorry guys.

Can you see the flamingo?
Too bad my kids can't. The only thing they found at this exhibit was a mallard duck.

First day, first park

Wednesday afternoon we headed over to Animal Kingdom for some fun. We arrived just in time to see the Jungle Parade. Here is Mickey.
Animal Kingdom is a wonderful place that is somewhat like a zoo but of coarse has a Disney twist to it. After the parade we watched Nemo the musical. All I can say is, just keep swimmin.....

This was pretty close to us and right in front of Lucas were a couple of swordfish fighting at one point. I was mesmerized by how big the smile on Lucas face was that I forgot to take a picture.

After a few rides we spotted Pluto and Goofy so we had to head over and get their autograph. Addie was so excited to go see them. We finally understood when we were standing in line what Addie was talking about when she was insisting Goofy had a mustache. His whiskers. We tried to explain they were whiskers but she specifically pointed out it was a mustache like her papa's.

Bet you are wondering where the picture is of Addie getting her autograph book signed and picture taken. Yeah, that did not happen. She flipped out right as we got up there. She wanted nothing to do with them. I sort of tried to push her towards them and this ear piercing scream came out so we decided to let her be. Lucas was nice enough to get her book signed for her every time.

You can't go to Animal Kingdom without heading over to the tree of life. The animal carvings in the tree are a true art.

DISNEYWORLD 2010

What a wonderful vacation!! We had an amazing time every minute of every day. It started with an early morning flight that landed in very humid Orlando but it was nice to see the sun! We headed over on the magical express to the Caribbean Beach Resort to lay claim to our pirate room. Let me say magical express is amazing. You check your luggage at KCI and then it appears in your room after you get back from the park. So nice to get off a plane and just walk to where you want to be! Jeremy let Luke go in first and he loved it!! He was so excited. It was sort of weird because his excitement grew every day when we would head back to the room. Addi started calling the room our pirate ship home.

Here is one of the beds. We had two in our room and they were both very comfy-which surprised mom and dad!! That is an alarm clock on the side barrel and I am happy to say it was never used.

This is the ship carved in the side of the shower. It was too cool for me not to take a picture of.

Yeah, the room came with a TV which the kids found the Disney channel about five seconds after we walked in. Here is Luke looking for some food in the fridge. Guess vacation or not some things never change.

Addi found a snack in my backpack. The room was really nice. All the furniture was themed from a pirate ship and the curtain dividing the beds from the bathroom had the Pirate of the Caribbean skull on it. Everyone but Addi thought that was a cool touch.

Weather-boo!!

I just checked the Orlando weather for our trip. I have one word-BOO. I plan for just about everything in my world. I find relaxation in planning and I enjoy planning everything from the grocery store trip to bringing home a new baby. For our trip I consulted weather averages and rainfall totals for Orlando by month. May in Orlando is to have an average high of 87 and an average monthly rainfall total of two inches. I ask, WHY does two inches have to come the week we are there?!?! Guess I better add rain coats or ponchos to our luggage!!

1 DAY LEFT

Well there is no more paper chain. Lucas took down day 2 on the count down chain so there is lonely 1 day left circle remaining on the wall. I would take a picture for you if I was not charging my camera battery. We are in the complete stages of getting ready for vacation. I have not given more then seconds to the thought of dinner and those 2 seconds were spent thinking how preparing a meal for my family would interrupt my packing schedule!

Addi wanted to know why we could not leave tonight and Lucas is upset again about missing a day of school. Then there is Jeremy, poor Jeremy. His phone has rung off the hook non stop all day long and he more then a full weeks of work that he is desperately trying to shove into two days. This could be very interesting. It makes me remember our honeymoon. He worked so hard the three weeks up to the wedding and the stress of that entire thing that he was sick the end of our honeymoon and the week afterwards. He was so wiped out they thought he had mono and then decided it was exhaustion!! We are certainly going to need a day at the pool!!

I give you a cute header and a crazy background to view in our absence. I will post tons when we return!!

Ever wonder how the octo-mom feels?

I am guessing something like this.....

Addie loves her baby dolls. The other night they were all quite fussy and needed a lot of her attention. Like when caring for any baby sometimes the house has to change to meet the babies needs and my couch was pretty much taken apart in order to give every baby a pillow to rest on. It was so much work Addie needed to rest afterwards.
I love oppies-do. She is the last one on the right. She has no clothes and her arms in the surrender position. You should know that is the only baby that a name that never changes!! I have no idea how she got the name but it cracks me up every time Addie plays with her.

The count down is in full swing around here these days. We have less then a week to go before we are back at Walt Disney World. We are all almost bursting with excitement. Whenever we have to get in the car to go anywhere Addie always asks, are we going to Mickey's house now?
We have a few surprises in store for the kids like the fact we are staying in a Pirate themed room for Lucas benefit. The rooms look really cool from everything I have seen on the web. We are eating our first breakfast at the Magic Kingdom with Cinderella at Cinderella's castle. I am even going to pack Addie's dress so she should be super excited. The EPCOT flower show is going on so even though that is not my favorite idea of a day spent it should be pretty cool!!
We will post lots of pictures but it might be after we get back. I am not sure how much more I can get done before we leave. I am currently having to fight off the troops from packing everything they own in their suitcases!!!
