Beautiful girl

Look at this cutie. The Stiners and Collins came over Friday night for Pizza and visiting.

We all had a wonderful time. Look at this cutie.

Addi loved every second of Nevie. She almost bursts with excitement when she is able to sit and hold her. We even asked her if Nevie came for a visit on Saturday and she went on and on telling us every little detail in her own words and hand movements. It was so cute.

Corben is such a rock star. He is very patient with everyone wanting to hold Nevie and see his little sister but you can read it all over his face, he would prefer to be the one holding her-keeping her all to himself. What a great big brother he will be.

Baby night

Tonight is baby night. Yeah, you all are highly mistaken and sick for letting your mind wander there. Baby night as in my cousin is coming over with her brand new (2 months old) baby girl. Oh yeah, the rest of her family and parents are coming over but lets not lose sight of what is really important here.

Jen is going to bring Nevie over to our place to hang out. I already snuck over to see them when they made it to town on Wednesday. I took the kids and Addi is in love. She talked about Nevie to her daddy all night. She said that Nevie was not naughty. That is a good thing for Nevie because her baby dolls are naughty and man is that punishment severe! I hope to get some pictures of them tonight. I forgot my camera in my rush to Lee's Summit Wednesday so I have to get some good ones tonight so I can post them.

On another note, Jen is coming over tonight so I am going to make her show me what is up with my inability to format my blogs the way I want. She has no idea this one is coming but once I have her at my place-mine, all mine. I will try to bribe her with some baby clothes for her little one.

I can't believe it but this is my 51st blog. That means this year alone I have manged to post 50 blogs, some more wonderful than others but a blog none the less. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. I am still on a mission to get more bloggers out there. There seems to be a ton of people moving away right now so I would love it if I could get them to blog. It is so hard to talk on the phone with two kids. Not that I don't want to but the days of sitting on the couch hanging out on the phone-distant memory. As in a memory that has cob webs on it.

Game night

Tonight Lucas had another game. The field had completely dried out from the rain earlier in the day and it was a humid as a July day. Not one parent complained. We were all happy the rain did not interfer again.

Lucas started off as pitcher for this game. Our competation was a team made up of half 8 year olds and 6.5 year olds like our entire team. Our cather only made it for two innings. It is hard work being catcher and those balls really fly if you don't catch them. We moved on to our second catcher of the game. He did really well, actually I thought he was quiet a natural. He had one ball get away from him and it hit him directly on his knee. His dad and Coach Long tried to tell him to walk it off. He made it though the entire inning but called that done. We sent out another cathcer for the next innings. He hated it from the first pitch, but made made it though the inning. Then it was Lucas turn. He remembered to stay down and was great at getting up and getting the mask off tonight. He was happy with his catching and so were we.

I see purching some knee savers in my near future, you know like Saturday.

First game

Last night Lucas actually had a game. There was a lousy drizzle through the entire game but they got it all in. The score was just about as lousy 12-3, yeah we lost. I really do think a lot of it had to do with the fact it rained all the time in April so many of practices did not occur. I also want to give the other team full credit for getting the use of a gym in Harrisonville school to practice in nightly. That was good thinking on their part, I have to remember that for next year.

I promised pictures but really I sort of lied about that. I had the best intentions in all of the world but I forgot to take pictures when Lucas was at bat. I was too busy chearing. Lucas got the first score for our team for the year, again no picture. I did get some pictures of him catching. He did not last the entire game, a lot of that has to do with him needing to get his legs in shape. I think he forgot about all the up and down. He does love being catcher though.

We are to have another game Thursday, given the forecast I doubt that will happen. I will put some more pictures up after our next game-whenever that is.

Tomorrow could be the big day. Lucas may actually get to play a baseball game. I know that there is still a chance of rain in the forecast but we are all crossing our fingers that we can actually get the season under way tomorrow. Hope for no showers until evening!!

Blogging issues

I love blogging I really do but something is up with the formating of my pictures when I try to upload them today. urrrrr. It really is enough to make a person nuts. In order to make myself feel better here is a cute picture of the kids. Ahh, breathe deep and look at these cuties. I will try to get my unknown issue resolved and be back in no time.

Spring Days

It appears that spring has finally decided to say. We were able to get out yesterday and really enjoy the day. We planted some flowers, vegetables and strawberries. I have a feeling everyone is going to be a bit disappointed in the strawberries as they will not be like the ones from the grocery store but it is worth the experience.

After we planted everything we had a nice portion of the day left to play outside. Lucas and I were able to play catch for a while, which is now more than just two

gloves and one ball. Then we have monkey see monkey do.

Royals game

Last night was to be Lucas first baseball game of the season. KC is now the new Seattle and as it rains everyday so the game was cancelled. Actually I don't look for him to have any games at all this week.

Jeremy decided to treat us to a night at the Royals game. Addi seemed to be a bit confused by this change in plan. Once we found our seat at the stadium she tried to get Lucas to go down to the field. She was yelling at him, go Lu kas go. Go play Lu kas. I think she may be a bit disappointed in how a little league machine pitch game goes.

We took a walk around the stadium when we got there to find our brick. After a little searching we located it.

This was our first trip out to the stadium since the renovation. We have been so busy since opening day. If you have not been you have to get out there. You know you are in the same old Kauffman but it has a totally different feel to it. When you are sitting in your seat you have to actually think what did it use to look like over there because nothing is out of place and nothing overly new compared with the old parts. It is just great.

The Naval Color Guard presented the flags. Lucas was super excited because his cousin Brad is in the Navy and for a minute he thought Brad was in town. Bummer he was not. Lucas said it was an extra special night when the Navy brings the flags. I could not agree more!

Here is a view that you could not take at the old K. A shot at the back of the field. It was way cool to walk all around the stadium.

Here is the awesome jumbo tron. The put all the pieces back together and it looks like in all the right order. One of the coolest things that happened to us was that Addi was dancing in the stands during the 9th inning. The camera man came over and shot her straight up to the jumbo tron. Then he turned to Lucas and Jeremy and put them up there also. Addi just danced the entire time smiling her heart out. Once we pointed her picture out to her she started doing the hyper dance and giggling. Man I wish I was not so memorized and remember to take a picture.

Ever seen those cats and the flashlights?

Ever seen those cats that chase the flashlight for hours and hours? Well we had something similar to that at our place tonight. Addi found GG flashlight in her room and turned that into about an hours worth of fun. She shook and shook it all over the place and would run up to all of us and say, "reach it? reach it? you no reach it" with this huge smile on her face. Jeremy and Lucas were about on the floor in laughter. She was spinning and spinning until she fell down she was so dizzy. It was ridiculous that we were getting so much enjoyment out of a silly little girl with a flashlight. I still can't believe it went on that long. I wish I could have shot some video of it because as soon as I got out the camera she stopped to "cheeze"

If you are ever in a pitch for a quick toy for a 2 year old, grab the flashlight. I think it ranks right up there with a huge empty box.

I have to finish getting up these pictures from our trip up. I could go on and on and write a cute story for every picture but it is late and the week has been long and honestly I am not feeling it so sorry but you are getting the short version.

A little pixie dust to help make your wishes at Disneyland come true.

These are the trash music men. They travel around Disneyland and every one and a while break into concert. They use everything we use to clean up to make music with. It is pretty awesome to watch them perform. And we all know that Addi loves cleaning so making music with cleaning items, amazing.

Lucas was lucky enough to be in the Celebration parade.

He did the conga line and played a drum during one of the songs.

Everyone picked their own items with their Disney dollars. Lucas just had to have the Mickey hands. Grandma Ann splurged for the Goofy hat. Addi has loved pulling him around by the ears. To every one's surprise Addi selected a baby doll. Ha ha to our surprise. I could open up a doll store at this point. As you can see she loved her selection. What I could not capture with my camera were the 20 agonizing minutes we spent in Downtown Disney waiting for her to make her selection. I will say she knew exactly what she wanted once she made her choice. It was their Disney dollars and everyone was happy with their choice and that is what matters at the end of any vacation. Well that and making sure your loot fits in the luggage.

Look at him, can you believe he will be 7 in just a few short months? What a cutie!!

Ever watch Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on Food Network? We happen to enjoy the show very much around here. Jeremy loves the fact that it shows what awesome food little cafes have. I love it because it gives me hope that one time I will fall in love with the cafes that Jeremy drags me too.

We were in luck when we went to California. Right down the street from the rental car place was Randy's World Famous Donuts. Actually I think it was just Randy's Donuts but I will give them the world famous part. This is a tiny drive up only donut shop. It has on top of it a giant donut. The donut on top of the building if level with the building would be twice as large as the building it self. We had doubt to say the least when we pulled up to the building on our way to return the car. When you pull up to the window there is noting but rows and rows and racks and racks of donuts. I have no idea how they make all those donuts in that tiny shack but man did they look good.

Lucas and Addi love and I mean love donuts. We got them each a donut and Jeremy decided to par take in the pleasure. We waited to eat them until we arrived at the airport. After the first bite everyone was bummed they did not get more. I took one bite and man were those things melt in your mouth Lamar's kind of good.

Remember if you are ever headed to LAX stop by Randy's donuts. It is worth the special treat to make the special trip through LAX more relaxing.

Rudolph

Well it has happened. It is in full swing, there is no turning back. There is no peace to be had. It is not going away any time soon. What you are asking, what is my attack of the allergies. I have now developed the red nose. The red nose that will be a fixture on my face for the next several months. I had successfull fought it off for the last two days but today there was no preventing it. I have sneezed all day long.

I have sneezed and blown my nose so much that I had to fight my co-workers off with the cans of Lysol. I was on the verge of being attacked and had to yell for my life that it was an allergy issue. Once that declaration was made I then had to inform everyone that there was no more need to bless me after every sneeze. If they felt so inclined one an hour would do. After all there is work to be done. Thank goodness that is out of the way or the spray down with Lysol would have only made matters worse, a lot worse. I could kill the fella who invented flower scented Lysol. Honestly.

If you are ever wanting to go on a walk late at night and need a light, give me a call. You will get full blown sound effects with the walk as I will blow and sniff my way down the path but hey the glow of the nose will guide you well.

I went to Whole Foods today to pick up an obscenely large jar of honey so I can again begin my tablespoon a day routine. They were out. Not out of honey of coarse but out of honey from my area. They had plenty of honey from Omaha, Denver, Pratt Kansas and various other locations not in my bee pollen world. How stinkin hard is it to get honey from your local area. They use to carry these wonderful jars from Coopers Honey in Peculiar, Mo. See Peculiar is one town next to us. Same flowers, same bee wonderful allergy honey. Now I have wasted one lunch hour and bought stuff I did not need from Whole Foods and still have to go to the store tonight. I rather not go directly to the Coopers house as the very kind woman will trap me there for hours discussing all the most wonderful things I could do with honey outside of putting it in a spoon and downing it in the morning. Less conversation more selling lady! Well now that I have vented about that I have to say I feel much better eating my dried apricots right now.

Ok off to pop another Allegra and sniff some wonderful drugs up my nose. Ah the joys of spring. Oh carry on about how happy you are to plant your flowers and mow your pollen ridden grass. If you could just pass me a tissue or two I will be right here.....

California cuties

Lucas really wanted to get his picture with a palm tree. I found this really cool one our in front of our hotel. Addi thought this was a photo shoot moment and managed to drag a two picture moment into a five minute cheeze session. Don't worry she does not need any assistance with her poses, the hands on hips is all natural.
