One year ago

One year ago this month we took an amazing vacation to Florida.  With about a month to go we added on a couple of days so we could go to the beach.  We really love the beach and since the kids had no idea the vacation was even going to happen it was extra exciting.  That is right, I planned an entire vacation to Florida including Disney World that my kids knew nothing about until we were parking at the airport!  It brigs a smile to my face just thinking about that.

The plan was to spend two days at the beach then head to Disney.  We were going to take the kids deep sea fishing and spend some time in the ocean.  As soon as we got there the kids ran for the sand.  Sadly we did not get to go deep sea fishing because of a small craft advisory that meant the fishing boat could not go out.  We were all pretty bummed but in the end it was fine since we got to spend more time in the ocean.

Poor Luke could never figure out how to burry his feet in the sand.

Addi Jo tried so hard to get her clothes wet but she could never commit to just doing it.

Can you tell which one is more laid back and which one has the burning adventurous spirit?
No way Luke was gonna get his clothes wet, even if it meant he had to stand in the water like an old lady
The waves don't look to bad here but those things were fierce!  The ocean stole my sunglasses within the first hour as I tried to hold Addi up out of the water that was knocking us over.

After our initial visit to the ocean we decided to take a short nap and head out for some seafood.  I woke up three hours later and this is what I found.  It really was not fair because those hotel beds were amazing!  The mattress was perfect, the pillows so soft and the covers like they just came out of the dryer.  Maybe a piece of it had to do with leaving the house at 4am?

That is correct, Addi Jo was awake but buried under those soft covers, she was quiet so who am I to encourage the beast to get up.  I really don't know if she ever sleeps because I think she is awake every night I go to sleep.

Winter Park

Over the long President's Day weekend we headed to winter park Colorado so get away in view the amazing snow. We had an absolute blast and were in bed by 9 with the kids passing out somewhere between 7:30 and 8 every day! It was fun to road trip it and we beat a pretty significant storm home which was nice

This is their getting ready for ski school picture

Luke in ski school. Jeremy and I were off skiing so no pictures of Addi

On the way home we spent the night in Denver and had dinner with Debbie and Chris and their kids, who are by far little anymore Christopher and Jordan. Addi immediately fell in love with Jordan.

We found a random toy store and got these great glasses.

Happy Birthday

Addi Jo turned 6 this year. This year Hunter and Addi had their party together at the local club house. It was a Paris poodle theme and shark event party.

Addi received lots of jewelry for her special day and loves wearing every piece

Lake fun

Well it's not all fishing at the lake. There are lots of tubing and floating and hanging out. I have no pictures of us being bobbers in the water but lots of kids on the tube, because what can be more fun?

As you can see some folks, Hunter here, got more brave as the season went on

Ah nothing like snack time at the lake to re fuel

Switching tubes behind the boat.

Happy Birthday

Luke turned 11!! I could go on and on about how time has passed and the cute munchkin he was has turned into a tween and what in earth is that anyway? It appears it a smelly yet not so moody ball of energy that needs a ride all the time.

Oh my goodness it was an iPhone! He was so excited and happy!

Luke had practice on his birthday and was leaving for Alaska a week after that just pizza on a paper plate was as fancy as we got
