Fishing season

Last year Jeremy lost his tackle box when it was left in the back of a friend's truck with the tailgate down. Ah, that was a very nice and full tackle box. We have known since last year that everything would have to be replaced but I did not feel like buying a bunch of fishing items when I knew they were not going to be used. Luke has been asking for a couple of weeks when our first fishing trip was going to be. Jeremy forgot he had no fishing supplies and told him Sunday afternoon. That trip turned into a quick trip to Cabela's. It worked out alright in the end because Luke got some supplies for his own tackle box and Jeremy had to devote a special section in his for the lures or gummy worms Addie has claimed as hers.

It is hard work putting everything together. Now everyone is ready to go.

Kiln project

Every year Lucas makes a project in art class using the kiln. Kindergarten it was a bird that only identifiable because of its long beak. First grade was a dinosaur that looked oddly like a snake. This year I am told it is an army fort with cannons and guns. Here is the picture.....

I wonder what third grade will bring..........

Hunter had surgery a week ago Monday and just does not seem to be back to himself 100% yet. He came over Saturday night to hang out with everyone and was happy to see Addie Jo in the car once she woke up from her nap. When we got home Addie gave him her new found love Barbie play set. He was so nice to oblige her by playing with them for a few minutes. Addie told him he was not doing it right and Hunter took the first opportunity to run for the outdoors as soon as she turned her back!! Smart move. I think with thinking like that he is closer to a full recovery then I realize!!

Busy weekend

We run a pretty full schedule around here. It is not by design, it has simply evolved to be this way over the years. Jeremy and I have always been on the go types and doing "stuff" outside of work has never bugged us. It just seems that with two kids two jobs and life our "stuff" has grown. Last weekend we put our scheduling abilities to the test.

PAPA was in town for a wedding and was able to catch Taralyn's soccer game. Luke has baseball practice and then a camp. Jenny and Brad came to town. Jeremy promised to take Luke fishing, even though he did not have a tackle box (it was lost last year in an accident) I was out of town until Friday afternoon and needed to have a picked up house for company since we were going to do a barbeque for everyone Saturday night. It took a little help from Grandma Ann to pick up Luke from baseball camp but I am happy to say we were able to pull of a wonderful time with everyone.

The only down side is that I have ZERO pictures of anything. We got to see a ton of family we hardly ever get to see so it would of been nice to capture themn with a camera but I guess that was too much to figure out. I guess that is what I can work on improving, grabbing the camera!!

Egg Hunt 2010

Grandma Ann had Easter dinner at her house today, along with dinner she also filled over 100 for Addie and Lucas to find. Oh how lucky they were. Dinner was great and only slighlty rushed for the up coming egg hunt.

Here is the beginning of the hunt or race in Lucas case. Ready, set, go.........

Addie already had her eye on a couple of eggs on the patio.

Afte any good hunt one must open their eggs and find the loot. It is sad to say but their ziploc bags were almost full at the end. Geez, that is a lot of candy!!

Easter Pictures

Easter morning 2010

Lucas was super excited about his new pink polo today he was a very willing participant in the picture. Addie on the other hand, well she was having some serious super model camera issues.

This is our best attempt at a kid picture. I got Addie a sweater for her dress and tried to talk her into a hat, but no go. She was in love with the gloves. She was barley willing to take them off to eat. She just loves them. It makes me feel like she is going to do a dust inspection at any second.

HAPPY EASTER

Death of an Easter Bunny

See these cute baskets? I have used them for years. The duck was originally Lucas and then it was passed down to Addie after Grandma Char got him the baseball one.

I think my love of these baskets and internal thriftiness caused Lucas to get to thinking a bit too much this morning.

I started noticing at Christmas that Lucas was asking a lot of questions about Santa and the entire logic behind it. I am think Jeremy and I did a pretty good job figuring out how to avoid the tough questions. This morning Lucas opened his basket with a puzzled look on his face the entire time. He started to ask a question here or there but then would pause. After the baskets were open and we had moved on to organizing the money and candy Lucas came to me and asked the question I knew was no longer far off. Mom, is the Easter bunny real? Hump, I say. This of coarse is not going to work as an answer. I ask why do you ask? Maybe I can keep him a little kid a bit longer. He said, well it is in the same basket as downstairs that we get every year and the same eggs we always use in the bag in the storage room. Oh great, I am so caught. I said well maybe we leave it out for the bunny at night. He said, yeah I don't believe that because I saw that grass stuff in the office yesterday and now it is in our baskets. Alright, snoop, I fessed up. I think I got out of it lucky because I did not have to give over any other figures. Santa and the tooth fairy are safe. I threatened him with a tongue removal if he told his sister or another person at church and he seemed a bit scared, at least for the morning.

This getting bigger stuff can sure be a heart breaker.

Easter Baskets

Our morning started off with Easter Baskets. Lucas got a new game for his DS and Addie Jo got some sparkle flip flops. They were both super excited.
Some of their eggs had money in them, change only, and Addie just loves money.

Addie woke Luke up so they could do their baskets. He stumbled down the steps and was barley awake when Addie handed him his basket. It only took a second though for him to get excited.

I think this is about the time Addie Jo figured out that if she left Lucas to sleep she could of had the goodies of two baskets. I think next year he may be on his own.

Coloring Eggs

Today we colored Easter eggs. Everyone had a great time. The only complaint was that they ran out of eggs to fast. Only Addie and Daddy have shown an interest in eating the hard boiled eggs. Lucas had to find a trash can rather quickly after his taste test.

Such deep concretion on the coloring efforts. It took about two eggs before Lucas figured out he could mix colors and use more than one on each eggs.

Not one egg was cracked in the coloring process.

A lovely finished product. As you can see Addie Jo's Easter cupcake made it into the pictures also.

HOPE YOU HAVE A HAPPY EASTER

Dress up time

Friday we Aunt Carrie and I made a switch. She took Lucas to the movies and Hunter hung out at our place. The plan was a bit delayed as the kids and I were stuck at the grocery store because a storm blew into town rather suddenly. I say blew into town and that is a major understatement. We were locked into the grocery store as the wind was blowing so hard the produce department was wet and there was no way I could push a cart out of the store. When we were finally able to leave I had to dodge several limbs on the road. Shortly after we got home everything was back to normal and the sun was out. It was just crazy.

While I unloaded groceries from the car GG played with the kids. Maybe I should say the kids played with her. Addie decided t do dress up on GG. You see Hunter just does not have enough hair to play hair with him.

GG was a great sport about it all!!

Can you hear me?

Addie is starting to enjoy talking on the phone. As you can see from these pictures she is one that likes to multi task why talking on the phone.
The only issue we seem to be having right now is that it does nt matter if someone is talking on the other end or not. I guess we should just be happy she has moved on to the house phone and is leaving our cell phones alone!!
