Safari

Our last day on vacation we spent the day at Animal Kingdom. We wanted to ride the Safari ride early in the day and since the parked open early we headed straight to the safari. We all loved it the last time we were on vacation because there are so many animals and you really feel like you are in the middle of Africa when you are out in the jeep. These are real animals. Totally unpredictable. The perfect example of this the fact we were sitting in our jeep for ten minutes waiting for a giraffe to move off the road so the jeep ahead of us could go allowing everyone else to move on. Eventually they had to get someone from animal programs to come out and coax it with some sort of leafy tree branch to get him to move along. No one minded sitting there watching it all take place. It really reminds you how beautiful the world is. One of the most amazing things we saw the entire week was the white rhino. This is a picture of the newest addition to the white rhino world population. He is only a few months old but full of fire. We got to watch the baby run while his mom tried to keep up with him for at least half a mile. Up and down the hills and around a few trees. It was so cool. There is no way a picture will ever do it justice.

This is a good picture of the jeep you take on the safari ride. The safari is two weeks long but our driver got off course and ended up close to camp so they let us off early (wink, wink)

This gorilla would not turn her head so anyone could take her picture. Sound like anyone else?

This is an over friendly ostrich. He was pretty close to sticking his head in our jeep.

It was early. I am not sure how awake Addie was but she did think the animals were cool when we saw them.

I don't remember what these are but you can see how close you get to the animals.

I wish we had more time to go back on the safari when we were done the first time but we had to get over to Donald's breakfast. Every ride is totally different because you never know what the animals will do. What a prefect way to end a vacation.

Breakfast with Donald and Friends

On our last day we had scheduled breakfast with Donald and Friends. I did not have any hopes of an amazing time as Addie blew off Mickey and Friends the night before but I had read the buffet breakfast was really good and I knew it would be our only sit down meal of the day since we were flying home. That is why you have to love kids, they are always there to surprise you! Addie had a blast and was so friendly with all the characters!! It was an amazing end to an amazing vacation.

Addie absolutely fell in love with Daisy. She kept talking about how Donald came to see her last night and Daisy is with Donald. In her little head this was a clear connection to a new friend.

Here is Mickey signing the autograph books. Addie has her eye out on the music that is playing and how the servers are telling all the kids to get up and dance to the African music they started playing.

Here is Lucas participating. Nothing from Addie yet.....

Our friend Goofy.
Lucas really does love Goofy.

Do you see this? Can you believe this is the same girl that would not turn her face to them less then 12 hours before? She just talked and talked to Goofy about his mustache and her yucky juice (it was weird tasting) and how she knows Donald.

The girl of the hour, Daisy.

What a cute smile from Addie.

See she was really enjoying her time there. She was so excited to see Daisy.

They started the music up again and Daisy took Addie by the hand and Addie danced along the entire time the music went.

So maybe it is not her favorite music but she talked about how she danced with Daisy up until we got on the plane.

Don't worry. Luke did not miss out on one beat.

Dumbo

A true Disney classic is Dumbo. I personally think it is the worst line ever to stand in at Disney but a classic is a classic.

Want to ride Dumbo wit me?

Here is the view from Dumbo

Dumbo is going to undergo a make over this fall so the next time we are there it will be a new feel to an old classic. Always something to look forward too.

Dinner with Mickey

On Mother's Day we had dinner with Mickey and Friends. I promise Disney has the best buffets ever. I know it sounds crazy but they are not your typical buffents with big bowls and trays of food. All the food is fresh and only small amounts are put out at a time and each buffet has a special kid section.

Lucas loved seeing everyone: Pluto, Minnie, Donald, Mickey and Goofy. Addie. Addie was another story. She chose to pretend they were not even there. Those are the pictures that are priceless.

Everyone wave your napkin and sign along. Yeah, the kids think it is cool to do that at restaurants at home now too.

Luke's favorite: GOOFY

Addie are you having fun?

Addie is Goofy signing your book?

Holy Crap, its Donald. Ahhhhh
Addie want to see Minnie Mouse?

Hey, Addie who is behind you?

Donald tapped her shoulder, played with her hair, took off her visor, moved her apple and she never once turned her head or took her drink out of her mouth. It went on for a good ten minutes but Ms. Will Power would not budge a side glance at him.
In the end it payed off because she was extra friendly with everyone at Donald's Safari Breakfast
