Jet Ski
Today Grandma Jan took her Jet Ski out for the first time. We all had a wonderful time!! Thank you so much for asking out for the maiden voyage. I drifted off for a nap at one point and when I woke up something was wrong with the jet ski. I still don't know exactly what happened or even if it is a big deal but right now the jet ski needs to see the doctor I am for sure.
After a cruise around the cove and edge of the windy lake we got out the tube. It was awesome. Jeremy and I were sure Lucas would love it. He was really more nervous than I thought he would have been. I went over the hand signals with him. I covered the big ones-go faster-stop-ok got it lets go. Ummmm, mom what is slow down. Oh Lucas, you don't need slow down you will only want to go faster. NO I have to know slow down. Ok here you go. And yes he used it time and time again. Should have passed on the faster sign-never once used that one.
I wanted to show him how much fun a tube really is and how you can get so scared of falling out but really since you are sitting inside a donut with a bottom you never do. Ummm, well that did not exactly turn out how I had planned. I flipped over the tube when Lucas and switched so I could ride and I did not realize that our tube you can't flip over. Yeah, I know they really do mean read all the directions. So I fell off in 1.1 second. I then flipped it over after gave it a whirl. Lucas was so nervous yelling at Jeremy the entire time as he was the spotter to make sure everything was okay. Poor guy. We will break him in.
Hey Grandma, lets hop on a drive away as fast as we can.
We decided to let Addi and Lucas ride together. Lucas was extremely protective of her-holding her so tight the entire time. Addi loved it. Loved every second of her ride. She wanted to go faster and faster. She would yell out to you-see you morrow as we would drive past the shore.
This would be the place I put in tons of pictures of the kids in the tube and their smiling or freaked out faces but you see I did not take my camera down to the water so no pictures for here. Char took lots so I will have to get them from her. Thank goodness for Char!!
In the end Jeremy got towed back to the dock and we headed back to the farm but it really was a blast and I hope we can go again soon. Actually we all hope we can go again soon. Addi asked if we are going to go lake 'gan morrow?? Lucas said he would try the tube again if we could just go back next week.
I think it was a pretty awesome Father's Day for Jeremy since the other option was a day at The K and the Royals lost so I say Jeremy came out a winner!!!
Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day!!
We started out the day by letting daddy sleep in. I told the kids it was Father's Day and they should be extra nice to daddy as we headed downstairs to let him sleep in. Addi made sure that no one made any extra noise. If you failed she reminded you-daddy happy day shhhhh. Oh ok. It was cute the first three times after that Lucas was figuring out that her yelling was far louder than any noise he could have ever made. Jeremy got up as I was finishing breakfast and Addi rushed him over to open his gift. She was so proud of her Minnie Mouse card she found. Lucas picked out his Royals Dad shirt and Royals hat.
Sadly after breakfast we had to head out to the grocery store. It is not how I would want to spend Mother's Day and I am sure not how Jeremy would want to spend Father's Day but we were pretty close to having to eat cardboard boxes for nourishment around here so you just gotta do what you gotta do regardless of the day. We did not make bad time which allowed us to get to Grandma Jan's a bit early so we could take the new jet ski out.
In the end I hope it was an okay Father's Day. I know the kids are really happy they have their daddy and I could not imagine anyone else!!!

Garage Sale
This weekend we decided to have a garage sale with our neighbor. I have to say the effort was worth the payout. I was completely surprised by how fast things flew out of here. We only had one random rain storm go through. It stopped as soon as I was able to drag everything into the garage. I was amazed by the people that came seconds after the rain had passed and looked at us oddly because we had everything randomly thrown into the garage. I am sure we missed a few sales there but oh well. I will keep my junk for another. Oops I mean extremely well priced gently used items for another day.
This is what we started with (there were tables inside the garage also) by the end of the day we only had what was in the garage!!! Lucas was so excited to see how much money he made. It was actually pretty cute to see his delima between saving his money and thinking about what he would like to spend it on.

Well it is not broken
Last night we head out to the K for what is to be a great night of baseball. After all the clouds only look like it could spark a massive thunderstorm or tornado (we were in a tornado watch) at any moment. It was Retro Night, Buck Night and Greinke was pitching so we knew there would be tons of people but it should be a great time. The storm never amounted to anything but a cooling breeze which helped cut the humidity. The $1 hot dogs were not as bad as they can be, Addi did eat 2. We were having a great time and Zack was not pitching a no hitter but he was racking up a fair number or strikes.
Then it happened, a foul ball was headed directly to Lucas. I mean it had an infrared sensor directly to his glove. He was reaching as high as he could. Addi was standing in front of me so I leaned my body over her, because having a small child hit with a fast moving ball is nothing I care to live through. I feel this amazing rush of people laying on top of me. What, what is going on. Jeremy leans over to get the ball for Lucas but no luck it is touched by too many finger tips and flips rolls and jumps far away. I thought the excitement was over and lean up just in time to get an amazing elbow to the nose. It was the biggest elbow I had ever seen and it was there to take me out. I hear some deep voice say, oh sorry as it leaves the side of my face.
I immediately cover up my nose because I can feel the blood flowing onto my hand. I know I have to get out of my seat but the stars circling my head are keeping me from jumping up. How sad that the first thing I thought was this is going to suck, my allergies are far from under control and every time I blow my nose for the next 2 weeks I am going to get a bloody nose. I make my way to my feet ask Jeremy to keep an eye on the kids.
As I am running up the stairs a guy on the aisle stops me to ask if it is broken. Broken?!? What I have not even thought about that. Thanks, guy.
It takes about 15 min to get the bleeding to stop. I opted to take a seat in the bathroom as I looked like I had some strange medical condition with all the stairs I was getting leaned over the sink. I finally leave the bathroom to find Jeremy and the kids right outside, they all looked so worried. We decided to take the kids to the Lil' K for some playing time. Since I looked like girl Rudolph, I led the way.
The thing I still don't get is the fact the row behind us was made up of 60 years old and we had a kid and the folks next to us had a kid. Good thing they are not our kids grandparents. They would take all their fun toys at Christmas and keep them for themselves.
I am glad that it was not one of the kids and I guess Lucas totally forgot the ball was coming at him to have so we did not have to deal with that disappointment and at least my nose is not any redder this morning than usual!

Lucas will be 7
At this point in time I seem to be running in circles never really getting anything done. All the while trying to get everything done at one. Point being-this morning I started the washer with no clothes in it. Thank goodness for Lucas mentioning I may want to put the basket of clothes in before I start it. Geeez
Well that takes me to my point, we are going to have Lucas 7th birthday party. I always try to send them out a month in advance, but that is not going to happen this year. The below invintation should be arriving at your home shortly-like this weekend. If for some reason I fail to send it out timely, purchase correct size envelopes to mail it out in or send it to you don't take it personal-come anyway-party with us.
WE HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!!

Kite flying
Papa Clay came over tonight to eat some of dads ribs and visit for a while. Man, those ribs were awesome!!
After dinner the kids managed to drag us outside for some kite flying. After all it was windy from the storm blowing into Harrisonville with all that hail and all so Papa did not want to have to drive back there any time soon.
The kids talked him into flying their kites. Man what fun!! The wind was not the best but everyone enjoyed it for sure!!

First Pool Trip
Today was our first trip to the pool as a family. Really it was everyone second trip of the season except for me because last Sunday I was having a girl day with my friends and Jeremy took them to the pool solo. I am counting it as our first trip since Jeremy did not take the camera with him. Not that I blame him, taking the kids to the pool solo sounds like a great idea until the time you are walking into the pool and realize they go nuts and loose their mind.
It was super hot outside this afternoon so once we all got changed into our chosen swimwear we were off. Addi had more than a difficult time selecting her suit for the day. She has two suits for this year. One is Elmo, she loves it, she loves just looking at it. The other is a cute white suit with flowers on it. She very much wanted to wear this one today but the pull of Elmo was to much for her to overcome. She had a bit of a crisis selecting the suit to wear but in the end again selected Elmo. It almost makes you feel bad for getting her two suits.
The bike ride to the pool was nice and toasty and everyone was ready to jump in once we got there, I was just thinking how nice that water was going to feel. I noticed right away that there were a few folks at the pool but no one was in the water. That is a major WARNING sign to me. It did not phase Lucas in the least. In he went. Addi was right behind him, the first two steps into the pool before she realized how cold it was. I was holding her hand the entire time and was relieved when she turned around to get out. Jeremy went for the straight jump in. I was the biggest baby in all about the entire cold water issued. I am just very picky when it comes to water temperature. In the end I was pushed in and have to admit the water was not that cold once you got use to it.
See Mom the water is really not that cold

I love splashing at the pool!

High level flights furnished by dad all summer long!!
Yeah, I am cold I am going get toasty in the sun for a bit!!
We are all looking forward to a nice warm pool all summer long!!

How do you know it is summer?
There are a few ways to tell summer is in full swing around our place:
The annual cleaning of the trash can. In the winter it does not smell and even if it did you could not leave it out because it would freeze to the ground. Glad to have this out of the way!
Cuts and scrapes also known as immediate first aid so Lucas can get back outside with his friends.
Fun playing ball in the yard with all of his friends
Sliding down your slide

More cuts and scrapes. We know it is never good if the doorbell rings when Lucas is to be playing outside.
And everyone's favoirte part----SWIMMING

Summer cold
This week Addi managed to get the same cold that Lucas had last week. My attempts at Cloroxing and Lysoling the surfaces Lucas touched obviously failed. Addi did seem to recover much faster than Lucas. I think that has to do with the fact that she did not have the allergy issues he did. Here are a few pictures of her last day of sickness!!!
Addi does love the camera even if she is not feeling well.
You can see she felt bad in her eyes and rosey cheeks. Then there was the fact she was telling you every ten seconds that she was sick.
And the happy moment with the camera ended very quickly.
Man are we glad to have our regular happy Addi back!!
